Thank you Gregory for your vision. In a city where dreams die hard, your work was not done in vain.

Gregory,
You did a great job and offered a creative, alternative vision for a neglected resource.
It is unfortunate that the people who have the power to change things are not motivated to take the effort to understand what is possible.
Best Wishes,
Jim

Fabrication-wise Hadid's pavilion is fabulous. But that's where it ends. When it was still under construction I could see the fantastic structure and its unfortunate the fabric isn't peeled back at some instances to allow glimpses of the "bones". You get just a simple impression with the taut fabric.

The UNStudio pavilion does not give exact and perfect views of the skyline but I think that adds to the playfulness and sense of exploration created through the design.

I would love to see these temporary pavilions as a regular occurrence at the park.

I just saw the Burnham pavilions myself today, and I'm not too impressed with either of them. The UN one is supposed to play with views of the city through the diagonal openings in the roof, but it does nothing of the sort. You can see glimpses of the surrounding buildings, but it certainly does not look very intentional. Hadid's pavilion completely ignores not only its neighbor, but the whole city as well - it claims to refer to Burnham's diagonals, but the connection is tenuous at best. Physically Zaha's piece is the better - UN used plastered and painted plywood, which not only looks shabby, but also underscores the imperfections of the manufacturing process - the translation from the admittedly elegant design to the actual structure is not very good.
